Born in Mississauga, Ont., June 12, 1975, my family eventually moved to St. Catharines, Ont. when I was 2.
I grew up with a lot of sports in my life, watching my father play hockey on the weekends was probably where I got my desire for that sport. Through hockey I was introduced to lacrosse and both became a part of my life until I was in college. It was both these sports that peaked my interest in photography, seeing my friends and I in the paper on a weekly basis. By the age of 14 I knew I needed to have a camera, so for my birthday that year my grandparents were kind enough to give me one as a present. By the age of 18, my passion for the lens had slowed down, being busy with school and hockey, there was just no time anymore. Then came the age of Digital photography, a godsend in my case. My first digital camera came 5 years ago and was a simple 2mp Olympus, since then I have upgraded a few times to get where I am at today. Between that and the invention of Adobe Photoshop, my passion was re-ignited. So in the summer of 2004 I decided it was time to put my hobby to good use, and go into business. Taking what I have a learned from both my father and stepfather about the world of business, and the eye for the arts that I inherited from my mother, I put them together with the help of my wife to create Altered Images Photography. As much as I love sports, and sports photography, I was equally in love with shooting weddings. To have the opportunity to capture those memories for a couple is such a great feeling, it’s hard to compare it to anything else. Since the inception of my company I not only have a full schedule of weddings, but have also become a team photographer for the Hamilton Bulldogs. Recently I have had the opportunity to do some work for both LAXMAG and Inside Lacrosse. To view my updated client list please view the Client section of my site. I have also had the opportunity to study under Stephen Dominick, who in such a short time taught me so much. In closing there are a few people who I would love to thank. First of my parents, all eight of them, you guys have all done too much to list, I love you all. To all my friends, thanks for spreading the word, such good advertising. Last and not least, my loving wife Amy, thank you so much for everything you have done and all your understanding, without you this would never have happened. I hope you enjoy my site, and if you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
Thank you, Rick Denham
